Anouk Tschanz (born in Bern in 1994) studied at ECAL Lausanne (Switzerland), UDK Berlin (Germany) and GSA Glasgow (United Kingdom). She lives and works in Zurich.

For the series Blätter (Leaves), Tschanz photographed each leaf where it grows: by the wayside, in the forest, in the meadow, in the garden. A single leaf is placed at the centre of attention. Its sometimes simple, sometimes baroque, sometimes geometrically abstract beauty in changing light situations is brilliantly expressed.

Tschanz works consistently with analogue techniques. She uses different analogue cameras depending on the situation and processes the images in her own darkroom. The hand-prints on baryta paper are the result of painstaking work. They impressively highlight the physicality, surface and materiality of the leaves.
