WILD FLOWERS IN A VASE, A WOMAN IN FRONT OF AN OPEN WINDOW, CHILDREN JUMPING INTO THE WATER: ANDREA MUHEIM, BORN IN 1968, SELECTS HER MOTIFS FROM THE REALM OF CLASSICAL GENRES SUCH AS PORTRAIT, LANDSCAPE, INTERIOR, AND STILL LIFE.

Andrea Muheim paints what unfolds before her. The turbulence of a relationship manifests in the flowing gestures, the intense scent of the daffodil still lingers in the air. The motifs for her paintings arise from her immediate surroundings. Muheim, as a keen observer, senses this down to the finest details. She captures the internal and external movement of a moment, penetrating through the surface of things to their essence. Muheim’s painting is representational, but she achieves precision of expression through abstraction, which she brings to the point.
