This year’s award winner, Tobias Weber, born in 1974 in Lucerne, works both as a fine artist and as an architect. His artistic work was discovered and supported by Zurich gallerist Alex Schlesinger twelve years ago, and the artist has been exclusively represented by the Alex Schlesinger Gallery (galas.ch) since then.

Tobias Weber’s scenic paintings in acrylic and oil pastel reflect the artist’s intense engagement, particularly with urban everyday life. Interiors of bars, dystopian scenes, penetrating portraits, architectural grandeur, and deserted train stations: Tobias Weber interprets his surroundings with sensual colors, fluid strokes, and a confident hand.
